Analysis of the effects of COVID 19 on the operations and sustainability of SMEs in South Western region, Uganda

SMEs are considered huge boosters to the economy of Uganda. They serve as engine and driving force for growth, development, innovation, economic prosperity wealth creation The study aimed at establishing upshot COVID 19 on operations sustainability in Uganda with a view creating lucid model successful improved performance. examined factors efficient embraced positivist quantitative approach correlational design cross sectional, survey design, underpinned interpretivism philosophy. used sample 205 working Kabale, Kisoro, Rukiga, Rukungiri Ntungamo. findings revealed that COVID19 pandemic accounted significant variance selected boarder districts confirmed hypothesis effects have positively affected performance, SMEs. pecking order theory was largely supported by resource based lays ground explaining, sustainability, performance recommends respective government authorities partners offer appropriate liquidity intercessions support handling instant encounters, avoid closures bankruptcies.   Key words: 19, operations, small medium enterprise, business.
